2025 Trends in Ship Building Technologies

Faculty, federal, and industry experts will give participants the opportunity to learn the state of the art and future trends in ship building and operation technologies.  The course content will draw from current expertise in shipyards as well as from other engineering fields where emerging technologies can translate to the maritime world.  The setting will provide extensive networking opportunities.

In its first iteration, the course is tailored for professional and graduate students in the Washington, DC area.  No prior knowledge of the maritime or naval industries is necessary, though recommended. 

Certificates

Certificate in Naval Security Studies The Elliott School of International Affairs (ESIA) currently offers three graduate certificate programs in Global Gender Policy; International Science and Technology Policy; and Nuclear Policy Studies.  As part of the CoNEP a fourth graduate certificate program in Naval Security Studies is being created.  At ESIA, graduate certificate programs require 15 credits, with at least 3 credits in a core course.  Students enrolled in a graduate certificate program may apply to transfer into a master’s degree program if they meet the admission requirements, submit a transfer application into the M.A. program before completing more than nine credit hours in the graduate certificate program.
